Android Engineer
The assignment
Our Android app is a mature Kotlin codebase in the middle of an exciting modernization.
We're moving from XML to Jetpack Compose and have adopted Kotlin Multiplatform as our
long-term mobile architecture, sharing business logic with iOS while keeping fully native UIs
on both platforms. We're looking for an experienced Android consultant to take over the app,
keep it stable, and move the modernization forward.
Location: Stockholm | Hybrid (2 days/week on site)
Start: ASAP (November at the latest)
Duration: Approx. 6 months, with possible extension
Language: English (Swedish a plus)
You will
Take over the Android app through a structured handover with our current Android
team.
Own releases, stability, and performance.Continue the migration from XML to Jetpack Compose, including integrating native
ad rendering with Compose's lifecycle.
Contribute to our shared KMP layer together with our iOS team.Document key areas and hand over to a permanent team member at the end of the
assignment.
Requirements
5+ years of professional Android development.Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android
architecture.
Experience taking over and maintaining production apps with real users.A solid understanding of the Android lifecycle, app stability, and mobile release
processes.
Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
Bonus points
Experience integrating ad SDKs (e.g. Xandr), analytics, or consent management.Experience migrating large codebases from XML to Compose.Experience with agentic coding
