Automation Engineer
Start: As soon as possible / September 2026
End: 31 December 2026, with possibility of extension
Location: Lund
Travel: Some travel may occur, typically 1–2 times per year for approximately 1–2 weeks at a time
We are looking for an Automation Engineer for a consulting assignment with one of our clients in Lund. You will join an experienced engineering organisation and work in a cross-functional project team developing advanced automated equipment and technical solutions for an international environment.
About the role
As an Automation Engineer, you will work throughout the development process, from system design and programming to testing and commissioning. You will be part of a cross-functional Scrum team where automation is an important part of ensuring the overall functionality and performance of the solution.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
PLC programming and automation developmentDevelopment and modification of HMI applicationsSystem design and technical analysisTesting, verification and commissioningWorking with databases and existing automation solutionsTroubleshooting and technical supportCreating and maintaining technical documentationCollaborating closely with engineers from different technical disciplinesDepending on the project, the role may also include supporting customers and providing technical training related to automation systems and equipment.
About the team
You will join an established automation organisation consisting of approximately 20 engineers. In your assignment, you will work in a project team of around 10 people with different technical backgrounds and areas of expertise.
The team works according to agile principles, and you will collaborate closely with colleagues across several engineering disciplines to develop complete technical solutions.
Job Requirements
We believe you have
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related fielExperience working throughout the development process, including documentation, development, testing and commissioningExperience with PLC programmingGood understanding of industrial automation systemsFluency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written
Nice to have
It is considered an advantage if you have experience with:
Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLC systemsAutomation within industrial machinery, manufacturing or process equipmentHMI development and commissioning in industrial environments
