Biostatistician

to join us in Research Unit of Clinical Research for a fixed-term position lasting until 31.12.2027.

The Women’s Health Team is a research group at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oulu. The team advances lifelong gynecological and obstetric health of women and leads internationally recognized programs on women’s health burden and work ability, Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS; formerly PCOS), and hormonal contraception.

In order to succeed in the position, we expect from you:A University degree in Statistics, Bioinformatics, Mathematics or closely related disciplineExperience in statistical data analysis and modelling, as well as data managementFluency in written and spoken EnglishFamiliarity with data analysis software (especially R and SPSS, but other options such as SAS or STATA can also be suitable for the role)Ability to work independently and take responsibility for planning and delivering tasksWillingness to learn new methodsA genuine interest in women’s healthWe also appreciateFinnish language skillsKnowledge on GDPR regulation in the EU and FinlandExperience in register data processing and analysisFamiliarity with some of the following: Redcap, CSC environmentsExperience in bioinformatics is considered a plus, but is not requiredYour work has an impact on the daily lives of students and researchers at the University of Oulu and will also promote women’s health in general. Salary

The position is fixed term starting from 1.12.2026 (or as agreed) until 31.12.2027.

The salary will be based on the levels 8-9 of the demand level chart for other expert and support staff of Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (maximum of 50 % of the job-specific component). The starting gross salary for similar positions typically ranges from approx. 3300-3600 € per month (before taxes). A trial period of 6 months is applied in the position.
