Business Development Associate Director, Oncology

We are looking for a driven and highly motivated Business Development Associate Director, Oncology, to join our growing Oncology Business Development & Licensing team. This role is designed for an ambitious BD professional with deal-making experience in the field of development therapeutics, who is ready to take the next step in their career. Reporting to a senior BD&L leader, the successful candidate will support oncology BD&L activities, contribute to deal-making processes, and help advance business opportunities across new and existing portfolio assets. This is a hands-on role for a curious, commercially minded, business-engaged talent who is eager to grow within a global oncology organization. Key Responsibilities Support deal-making processes for preclinical and clinical-stage oncology assets.Support business activities related to lifecycle management of the existing oncology portfolio.Coordinate cross-functional activities to enable efficient and well-aligned deal processes.Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.Work closely with senior BD&L leadership to support project planning, execution, and follow-through.Prepare clear, high-quality materials to support internal governance and senior leadership decision-making.Support oncology BD&L activities focused on identifying and advancing new business opportunities.Ensure business activities are conducted in line with company standards, governance processes, and compliance requirements. Required Experience and Qualifications Degree in life sciences or equivalent; a degree in law or economics may also be relevant.MBA from a leading business school is a strong advantage.3+ years of experience in business development in the pharma/biotech industry, preferably in oncology, with hands-on experience supporting collaborations and in-/out-licensing agreements.Knowledgeable in deal-making trends and the oncology landscape. Skills and Capabilities Ability to understand oncology science and translate it into business relevance.Business acumen, with the ability to contribute significantly to key business case assumptions.Ability to manage requests from senior internal stakeholders and lead contracting alignment across cross-functional teams.Strong analytical skills, capable of generating meaningful business insights and precise deal benchmarking.Agile team player able to manage multiple parallel projects from planning through execution, with increasing autonomy and ownership over time.Strong team orientation with excellent communication and presentation skills.Flexible, versatile, collaborative, and comfortable working across multiple functions and geographies.Willingness to travel internationally as needed, approximately 15%.
