Café Volta offers opportunities to contribute ideas and grow within a supportive culinary environment.Role Description The Chef role at Café Volta is a full-time, hybrid position based in Stockholm, with primary work on-site in the restaurant and some planning or administrative tasks performed from home. The Chef will plan and prepare daily menus, cook and plate dishes to café standards, and ensure consistent quality and presentation. Responsibilities include managing kitchen operations, coordinating with other kitchen staff, overseeing food safety and hygiene practices, and maintaining inventory and ordering supplies as needed. The Chef will collaborate with management to refine recipes, introduce seasonal specials, and support cost-effective operations. The role also involves training and mentoring kitchen team members, supporting smooth service during peak hours, and contributing to a positive, inclusive workplace culture.Qualifications Professional experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant or café environment.Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment.Understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations, and best practices in kitchen operations.Ability to plan menus, manage inventory, and support cost control without compromising quality.Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across front- and back-of-house.Organizational skills to handle multiple orders, prioritize tasks, and maintain a clean, efficient workspace.Creativity and passion for developing recipes, presenting dishes attractively, and enhancing the guest experience.Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Prior experience in the Swedish or Nordic restaurant scene is beneficial; culinary training or certification is a plus.Comfort working in a hybrid arrangement, performing on-site cooking duties and some planning tasks from home.
