Cloud Platform Engineer

Cloud Platform and MLOps Engineer Role purpose Make the delivery environment repeatable, secure and supportable. Provide the infrastructure, release automation and operating controls that allow application, data and AI engineers to deliver safely in customer AWS environments. Responsibilities Build infrastructure as code for approved accounts, networking, compute, storage and environment separation. Implement CI/CD with review gates, artefact versioning, automated checks and environment- specific configuration. Automate model or agent packaging, evaluation gates and promotion in collaboration with AI engineers. Establish useful service-level indicators, logs, traces, alerts and actionable incident runbooks. Test recovery, rollback, backup and restore; document failure handling and operational responsibilities. Optimise capacity and cost using measured demand, and enable customer engineers to maintain the platform. Essential capabilities Production AWS platform delivery with Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK and a strong scripting language. CI/CD, container or serverless deployment, automated tests and practical release/recovery ownership. IAM, networking, secrets, logging and secure environment configuration. Evidence of diagnosing cross-layer incidents and making useful monitoring and reliability improvements. Ability to support engineers and explain platform constraints in terms of customer delivery outcomes. Desirable experience and qualifications SageMaker MLOps, Bedrock/AgentCore operations and model or agent evaluation pipelines. ECS/EKS, policy as code, OpenTelemetry and regulated-environment change evidence. Experience with cost attribution and reproducible multi-account delivery. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional is desirable; cloud architecture credentials may also support the assessment.
