The OpportunityWe are seeking a Senior Cloud Video Engineer to own and evolve the backend infrastructure powering high-profile live and VOD streaming services.This isn't a passive operations role—you will actively architect, script, and configure automated end-to-end video pipelines in the cloud. You’ll serve as the technical engine behind our core streaming stack, taking full ownership of live packaging, dynamic ad insertion, DRM licensing, and global CDN delivery. What You’ll Own & BuildCloud Video Pipelines: Script, build, and optimize backend live and VOD workflows using AWS Elemental (MediaPackage, MediaConvert).Ad Monetization (SSAI): Configure, scale, and troubleshoot server-side ad insertion leveraging AWS MediaTailor for seamless live/VOD ad delivery.Content Protection: Implement robust DRM security architecture integrated with Castlabs, handling license delivery and end-to-end stream protection.Global Edge Distribution: Manage, configure, and secure high-traffic delivery via Akamai and AWS CloudFront.Automation & Scripting: Write lightweight, robust code to automate pipeline deployments, system configurations, and vendor integrations.Cross-Functional Architecture: Partner directly with client product and engineering leads to translate complex OTT requirements into resilient, highly available production code. What We’re Looking For.... Must-Have Core ExpertiseAWS Media Suite: Deep hands-on experience configuring and scripting live/VOD workflows via AWS Elemental (MediaPackage + MediaConvert).SSAI Mastery: Direct experience configuring AWS MediaTailor for real-world server-side ad insertion.DRM Security: Solid understanding of digital rights management architecture (Castlabs preferred), license delivery mechanisms, and content protection layers (Hardware vs. Software DRM).CDN Architecture & Edge Security: Proven experience delivering OTT streams using Akamai and AWS CloudFront, with deep knowledge of edge security practices (Signed URLs, Tokenization, Geo-blocking, WAF).Backend Scripting: Proficiency in Python or .NET alongside hands-on capability with JavaScript, JSON, and XML for backend automation.Streaming Standards: Fluency in modern streaming protocols including HLS, DASH, and CMAF.
