About the London CoalitionThe London Coalition on Sustainable Sovereign Debt is a time-bound public-private partnership bringing together sovereign debt practitioners, investors, lenders, legal and restructuring experts and public-sector institutions.The Coalition develops practical, market-based solutions that strengthen sovereign debt sustainability and help developing economies build resilience to external shocks. Its work includes tools to improve crisis preparedness and support faster, more orderly sovereign debt restructurings.The Sustainable Sovereign Debt Hub (SSDH), part of NatureFinance, serves as the Coalition's Secretariat. About the ConsultancyNatureFinance is seeking an experienced communications consultant to provide strategic and hands-on communications support to the London Coalition.Working with the London Coalition Secretariat and NatureFinance's communications team, the consultant will support communications across Coalition publications, stakeholder engagement, events, digital channels and media outreach.The assignment will focus on strengthening the Coalition's external communications, digital presence and visibility, while ensuring communications activities are aligned with the Coalition's priorities and programme objectives. Scope of ConsultancyThe consultant will provide communications support across the following areas:1. Media Relations & External CommunicationsDevelop and coordinate press releases, media statements, briefing materials, talking points, opinion pieces and other external communications.Manage media enquiries and coordinate responses with Secretariat leadership and relevant Coalition stakeholders.Support media engagement and spokesperson preparation around key publications, announcements and events.Build and maintain relationships with relevant journalists, media outlets and communications professionals across Coalition partners.2. Digital Content & PublicationsManage and maintain the London Coalition website, including content development, page configuration, publication uploads and ongoing content updates.Support the continued development of the website as the Coalition's needs evolve, working with NatureFinance communications colleagues and external providers where appropriate.Coordinate the publication of Coalition reports, consultation papers, guidance and other public outputs.Manage the Coalition's LinkedIn presence and develop content for relevant digital channels.Support newsletter content and communications with Coalition partners.3. Stakeholder & Partner CommunicationsCoordinate with communications teams across Coalition members, partners and supporting organisations.Support joint communications activities and ensure consistency of messaging across Coalition communications.Provide communications advice and support around Coalition outputs, events and announcements.Navigate institutional and political sensitivities with discretion and sound judgement.4. Events & Campaign CommunicationsDevelop and coordinate communications plans for Coalition events, roundtables, launches and other external convenings.Coordinate messaging, outreach and promotional activities before, during and after key events and publication launches.Develop event communications materials, including key messages, participant briefings, promotional content and post-event communications.5. Communications Planning & Advisory SupportProvide communications advice to the Secretariat on emerging opportunities, risks and priorities.Monitor relevant external developments, stakeholder activity and communications opportunities.Advise on how Coalition outputs and activities can be positioned to maximise visibility and engagement with relevant audiences. Qualifications & SkillsEssentialMinimum 5 years of experience in communications, public affairs, media relations or a related field, including content development and stakeholder engagement.Demonstrated experience developing and delivering external communications, including press releases, media statements, briefing materials and other communications products.Experience managing digital communications channels and producing high-quality content for different audiences.Experience managing media enquiries and working effectively with journalists and communications teams across multiple organisations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex and technical issues clearly to a range of audiences.Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs within tight deadlines.Experience working in complex stakeholder environments and exercising sound judgement when navigating sensitive communications issues.Strong judgement, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive or politically nuanced communications.Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a high standard of delivery.Fluent in English; other languages an asset.DesirableExperience managing and maintaining websites, particularly WordPress and/or Squarespace.Experience with website design, development or build.Experience working in an international policy, finance, development or other technically complex environment.Experience supporting communications for high-profile events, publications or multi-stakeholder initiatives. TermsThis is a part-time, fixed-term consultancy engagement through December 2027, with the possibility of extension depending on programme needs and available funding.The assignment is expected to require approximately 16 hours per week, with flexibility to increase to approximately 24 hours per week during busier periods, including ahead of major publications, events and other key deliverables.The consultancy will be delivered remotely, with a preference for candidates based in UK or European time zones and an ability to work predominantly within UK business hours.Occasional travel may be required for key Coalition meetings or events, with travel agreed in advance and covered by NatureFinance.
