Contract Embedded Software Engineer

Role: Embedded Software EngineerLocation: Västerås, Sweden — 3 days per week onsiteRate: 800 SEK per hourDuration: 12 months Role OverviewWe are looking for a Consultant Embedded Software Engineer to develop embedded applications for connected IoT products, working closely with electronics, hardware, cloud, and product engineering teams. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for IoT devices.Develop robust and efficient software primarily in C/C++.Work with microcontrollers, sensors, peripherals, and communication interfaces.Develop and integrate drivers using SPI, I²C, UART, GPIO, ADC, and PWM.Develop applications using RTOS or bare-metal architectures.Develop power-management strategies for battery-powered devices.Implement secure boot, device security, and OTA firmware updates where required.Technical SkillsEssential:Strong experience in embedded C/C++ development.Experience with microcontroller-based systems.Embedded debugging using JTAG/SWD and laboratory test equipment.Experience with hardware/software integration.Proficiency with Git and modern software development practices.Good understanding of digital electronics and embedded architectures.
