CTO / Co-Founder — Mobile, AI & Consumer Technology

OMA is looking for a CTO / Co-Founder.

We’re building OMA around a simple but ambitious idea: technology should work much more for people, rather than asking people to constantly work for technology.

We’re looking for an exceptional technical co-founder to help build it.

This is not primarily a management role. We’re looking for someone who has spent a significant part of their career actually building products—and still loves doing it.

You should have 15+ years of software engineering experience, with deep experience building and shipping iOS and Android applications and the technical judgment to design systems that can grow from an early product into a large-scale consumer platform.

You’ll own OMA’s technical architecture and engineering direction while working closely with the founding team on the product itself.

• Has 15+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Has built and shipped sophisticated iOS and Android products
• Has excellent software architecture and systems-design instincts
• Understands modern cloud infrastructure, APIs, data and security
• Is actively experimenting with AI-assisted development and the rapidly changing software-development stack
• Can move comfortably between architecture, debugging, product decisions and writing production code
• Has built or led high-performing engineering teams
• Cares deeply about product quality and the details of the user experience
• Wants to build a company, not simply join one

As a co-founder, you’ll have significant influence over what OMA becomes: the technology, the product, the engineering culture and ultimately the company itself.

OMA is building a new kind of technology company around a simple idea: technology should work for people, not the other way around.

We’re exploring what personal technology can become when AI allows us to rethink many of the assumptions behind today's apps, services and digital experiences.

We're early. That means the product is evolving quickly, the company is small, and the people joining us now will have an unusually large role in shaping both.

Where you'll work

OMA is based in Helsinki, Finland, and we're building for a global audience from day one.

We believe there is real value in building things together in person, particularly at this stage of the company. At the same time, we're pragmatic about how and where great people work. The exact setup can depend on the person and the role.

Compensation & ownership

These are early OMA hires, and we're looking for people who want to be owners rather than simply employees.

Our guiding principle for these roles is meaningful equity and relatively modest cash compensation, particularly in the beginning.

The exact combination will depend on the role, experience and circumstances of the person joining us. We want to find arrangements that allow exceptional people to take the journey with us while keeping everyone strongly aligned with what we're trying to build.

For the CTO / Co-Founder position, this is a co-founder-level equity conversation.

If maximizing near-term salary is your priority, OMA probably isn't the right opportunity today.

If having meaningful ownership in something at a very early stage—and helping determine whether it becomes something important—is more interesting, we should talk.
