With several major projects underway and significant new opportunities emerging across the Finnish market, the business is investing in strengthening its architectural expertise, expanding its technical capabilities and developing its long-term data strategy. Microsoft Fabric is a key part of its current technology stack, and the business is looking for an Architect with deep technical knowledge who can combine architecture, technical leadership and customer engagement. This is an opportunity to take on a position with genuine influence, helping shape the direction of the Data & AI function while working on complex customer projects for large Finnish cities and public-sector organisations. The roleAs a Data Architect, you’ll take a leading role in designing and delivering modern data solutions while helping define the future technical direction of the business. This is a combination of hands-on architecture, technical leadership and strategic development. You’ll work closely with customers to understand their requirements, design end-to-end data solutions and ensure successful project delivery. Alongside your customer responsibilities, you’ll have the opportunity to influence internal architecture practices, support technical teams and help make strategic technology decisions, particularly as AI continues to transform the data landscape. The role is expected to be split approximately 50% architecture and 50% wider technical, customer-facing and strategic responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to remain technically involved while contributing to the wider business. Key responsibilitiesDesign and lead the development of modern data architectures, with a strong focus on Microsoft Fabric.Define end-to-end data platform solutions that meet customer requirements and long-term business objectives.Lead architectural decision-making across complex data engineering projects.Work directly with customers, understanding their technical challenges and translating business requirements into effective architectural solutions.Provide technical leadership and guidance to Data Engineers and other technical specialists.Support the design, implementation and delivery of modern cloud-based data platforms.Evaluate emerging technologies and make strategic recommendations around data architecture, AI and cloud solutions.Contribute to customer proposals, technical tenders and business development activities.Help establish and improve internal architecture processes, standards and best practices.Play an active role in shaping the future of the Data & AI function and its service offering. What we're looking forExtensive experience as a Data Architect, Solution Architect or in a similar senior architectural role.Deep technical and architectural expertise in Microsoft Fabric.Strong understanding of modern data platforms, cloud architecture and data engineering principles.Strong SQL knowledge and experience designing scalable data solutions.Experience leading architecture across end-to-end data projects.The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong customer-facing skills and experience working in a consulting environment.A proactive approach to technical leadership, strategic decision-making and problem-solving.The ability to work independently, take ownership and influence technical direction.Professional fluency in Finnish.Experience with Databricks and other modern cloud data technologies would be an advantage, as would experience with AI-driven data architecture and the integration of AI into enterprise data platforms.
