Data Engineer – Spark, Flink & Scalable Backend APIs

You will join a skilled development team where collaboration, knowledge sharing and individual responsibility are central to how the team works.This role suits someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, understands the bigger picture and can move work forward even when every detail has not yet been defined.About the roleYou will work across data engineering and backend development, building reliable data pipelines and making data accessible through scalable services and APIs.Your responsibilities will include:- Building, maintaining and improving data pipelines using Spark and Flink- Developing reliable and scalable data solutions- Designing and building backend APIs that enable efficient access to data- Supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge within data engineering- Identifying technical requirements and proposing suitable solutions- Taking ownership of initiatives from idea to implementation- Contributing to technical improvements and more efficient ways of working Who we are looking forYou are an independent and solution-oriented engineer who enjoys being trusted with real responsibility. You are curious about the complete solution—not only your own area—and continuously consider how technology and ways of working can be improved.We believe you have:- Professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role- Strong programming skills in Python- Strong experience with Java or Scala- Solid backend development experience, for example with Scala Play or an equivalent framework- Strong general programming and system-design capabilities- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills- The ability to take ownership and work independently- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or another relevant field- Excellent spoken and written English A master’s degree is considered a strong advantage.
