Disaster Recovery Manager

The Disaster Recovery Manager is responsible for shaping and strengthening LKQ Europe’s disaster recovery strategy across all regions. This senior role ensures that critical business services can be restored within agreed timeframes by coordinating recovery across infrastructure, applications and data platforms. Acting as the lead during major incidents, the Disaster Recovery Manager drives a consistent, auditable and testable DR framework, embedding resilience into designs, operational processes and technology roadmaps. Working closely with stakeholders across IT, security and the business, this role elevates LKQ Europe’s recovery capabilities and ensures readiness through structured planning, scenario‑based testing and continuous maturity improvement. Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and maintain the LKQ Europe disaster recovery framework, including policies, standards, and service tiering across infrastructure, applications, and data platforms.Define and govern Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) in alignment with business requirements.Maintain the disaster recovery capability roadmap, track maturity improvements, and manage investment priorities.Ensure disaster recovery requirements are embedded in service designs, architecture, and operational processes.Lead the DR testing program, including planning, execution, and reporting of scenario‑based exercises for all critical services.Act as the DR lead during major incidents or DR invocation scenarios, coordinating cross‑functional recovery efforts and stakeholder communication.Ensure all DR plans, technical recovery procedures (TRPs), and documentation are complete, accurate, regularly reviewed, and audit‑ready.Support internal and external audits related to resilience, backup, and recovery.Assess current DR capabilities, identify gaps, and define a roadmap for capability maturity; recommend tools and drive standardization.Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure vendor solutions meet recovery, performance, and cost objectives. Required & Desired SkillsProven experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, or IT resilience in complex, multi‑system environments.Certifications such as CBCI, MBCI, ISO 22301, CISSP (preferred).Experience with storage, backup, and replication technologies (e.g., Veeam, NetApp).Strong understanding of infrastructure, applications, and data recovery principles.Familiarity with SOX ITGCs related to availability and recovery.Experience defining and governing RTO/RPO and service tiering models.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Experience supporting internal and external audit processes.Ability to produce clear DR documentation, test reports, and audit‑ready evidence.
