Electrical Engineer – Data Centre

(For people who know a test pack isn’t something you “get around to later”)

A lot of electrical engineering roles claim to be “complex.”

This one actually is — because it’s on a data centre project, and data centres don’t forgive sloppy engineering, missing information, or “we’ll sort that later.”

If you enjoy technical clarity, structured delivery, and seeing systems go from design to live without drama, you’ll probably like this job.

If you prefer cruising through a project hoping someone else spots the gaps — this won’t be your happiest place.

We’re hiring an Electrical Engineer who can own the engineering cycle from design review to commissioning, making sure the installation on site matches what’s on paper, and what’s on paper actually makes sense.

What You’ll Actually Do

Review electrical designs and call out gaps, inconsistencies or wishful thinkingValidate cable sizing and make recommendations that don’t break physicsDrive technical submittals through approvals without letting them gather dustTrack procurement, chase equipment, and verify what arrives matches what was orderedKeep supply chain progress visible and aligned with the construction programmeWork with BIM to make sure the installation is buildable — not theoretical artCoordinate with design teams and vendors to ensure everything operates as intendedCarry out electrical system walk‑downs to confirm compliancePrepare test packs, FTOPs and O&Ms and get them approvedManage specialist vendors during commissioningDeliver client training when required

It’s a role for someone who likes engineering that leads somewhere — specifically, towards a fully tested, commissioned, functioning facility.

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll report to the Project Manager or Electrical Engineering Lead, and work closely with:

Basically: the people who will either help the project succeed or make your life interesting.

What You’ll Need

A degree in EngineeringExperience in electrical engineering on major projects (data centre experience is ideal)Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation and commissioningOrganised, reliable, and able to keep multiple technical threads moving at onceAble to handle pressure without dropping standards
