Your roleAs a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll partner with product teams across Saab to solve complex technical challenges and accelerate innovation. You will build solutions, introduce new technologies and platforms, and help teams successfully adopt modern engineering practices. You're someone who likes understanding complex systems, exploring new possibilities, and turning ideas into practical solutions. You combine strong engineering skills with curiosity and a pragmatic mindset. While your background may be in software engineering, systems engineering, data engineering, platform engineering, or a related field, what matters most is your ability to solve complex problems, navigate ambiguity, and help others move forward. You are comfortable taking ownership of technical challenges, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and balancing hands-on engineering with enabling long-term success for teams and products. What you'll bringWe're looking for engineers who have built a solid foundation through experience and are ready to apply it across a variety of technical challenges. You likely have: Several years of experience working with software or systems engineering in complex product or technology environmentsExperience designing, building, or evolving technical solutions that are used by othersFamiliarity with modern engineering practices such as cloud technologies, CI/CD, automation, platform engineering, or distributed systemsAn interest in how AI, data, and emerging technologies can create practical valueThe ability to break down complex problems and turn uncertainty into clear directionStrong collaboration skills and an eagerness to learn from and share knowledge with others It's a bonus if you have experience withCloud-native platforms and infrastructureAI/ML applications in real-world productsPlatform engineering and reusable building blocksSystems architecture and technical leadershipReal-time, safety-critical, or highly regulated environments We know that great engineers bring different experiences and perspectives.
