Job Freelance English to Basque translators. Position Summary Our localization arm specializes in subtitling, closed captioning, and translation services and is currently seeking experienced English into Basque freelance translators. General RequirementsSpeaker of the source language to a native level (IRL Level 4) with excellent listening skills & ability to use context clues to provide an accurate translation.Speaker of the target language to a native level (IRL Level 5).Excellent knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation and ongoing engagement with the living languageCultural sensitivity and extensive understanding of terminological/cultural nuancesFull professional proficiency (IRL Level 3 or 4) of English for communication purposes.Knowledge of cinema and the film industry.Is a plus: Degree and/or professional training in subtitling and media.Is a plus: Degree and/or professional training in languages, cultures, and translation. Key Competencies 3-5 years of experience in translation & subtitling.Creation of scripts for non-English content, including dialogue and nonverbal elements that accurately represent the original intent and nature of the project.Knowledge of subtitling and translation tools: e.g. EZTitles, Spot, WinCaps, SST G1 etcCan research independently and apply subjective judgementCan adapt to new specs and requirements and apply knowledge to unexpected scenarios Is a plus: Review, editing, and proofreading experience.Is a plus: QA tools knowledge.Is a plus: QA and QE methodologies knowledge Additional Task/Component Experience Please note, only suitable applicants to this role will be contacted to take this further.
