FX Trading Lead

Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced FX Trading Lead to lead and grow OSL’s FX trading function supporting our global payments and digital asset business. This role will cover FX, including Emerging Markets across Asia, LATAM and Africa, supporting OSL’s expansion into new markets and currency corridors. You will be hands-on in trading, responsible for securing competitive local-market pricing, executing OTC transactions, managing P&L and growing trading volumes, while also leading a team of 5–7. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on FX trading experience, with 5+ years of experience and proven exposure to Emerging Market FX, particularly across Asia, LATAM and/or Africa. Experience across OTC trading, liquidity management, payments, fintech, or digital assets is highly valued. Key ResponsibilitiesFX Trading & Market ExecutionLead day-to-day FX trading across Asian, LATAM and African Emerging Market currencies, with relevant G10 coverageExecute OTC FX transactions and manage FX flow, ensuring competitive pricing and efficient executionBuild strong relationships with local market participants to secure best-in-market pricing and liquidityMonitor market conditions, liquidity, spreads, and currency movements to identify trading opportunitiesDevelop trading strategies to improve pricing, execution quality, trading volume, and profitabilityManage FX exposures and ensure appropriate market risk management EMFX ExpansionSupport OSL’s expansion across Asia, LATAM and Africa, with a focus on developing new Emerging Market FX capabilitiesDevelop local market knowledge across FX liquidity, counterparties, pricing, and market structureIdentify and establish new liquidity sources, banks, brokers, and OTC counterpartiesImprove OSL’s ability to price and execute FX transactions in less liquid and Emerging Market currenciesWork closely with Sales, Payments, Treasury, and Operations to understand market demand and support new payment flows Trading Performance & P&LOwn and manage trading P&L, ensuring sustainable profitability across trading activitiesDrive growth in trading volume while maintaining strong execution and risk disciplineTrack and improve pricing competitiveness, execution quality, spreads, and trading performanceIdentify opportunities to improve margins and optimise the use of liquidity across marketsEstablish and monitor trading KPIs for the team Team LeadershipLead and manage a team of approximately 5–7Set trading objectives, performance standards, and risk parametersCoach and develop traders while maintaining a hands-on role in tradingMonitor individual and team performance across P&L, trading volume, pricing, and execution qualityDrive continuous improvement across trading strategies, processes, and tools Risk & Operational ManagementEnsure trading activities operate within approved risk limits and internal controlsIdentify and manage market, liquidity, and counterparty risksWork closely with Risk, Compliance, Treasury, and Operations to ensure trading activities meet regulatory and operational requirementsImprove trading processes, systems, and controls as the business scales Key KPIsBest-in-market pricing: Consistently secure competitive FX pricing and liquidity across Asia, LATAM and AfricaSuccessful OTC trading: Execute OTC transactions efficiently while maintaining strong pricing and risk disciplineP&L management: Deliver sustainable trading profitability and effectively manage FX exposuresTrading volume: Grow FX trading volumes in line with OSL’s regional expansionLiquidity development: Build and expand a strong network of local and global liquidity providers and counterparties Requirements5+ years of hands-on FX trading experience, with meaningful FX flow or position management experienceStrong experience in Emerging Market FX, particularly across Asia, LATAM and/or AfricaProven experience with OTC FX trading, execution, pricing, and liquidity managementStrong understanding of local FX markets, market structure, liquidity providers, brokers, and banksDemonstrated ability to manage P&L and trading performanceExperience in crypto, digital assets, or stablecoins is highly valuedExperience in payments, fintech, or high-volume transaction environments is a plusPrevious experience managing or mentoring a trading team; experience leading a team of 5–7 is preferredStrong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to make fast and sound trading decisionsMandarin proficiency is preferredComfortable working within GMT+8 and collaborating with teams across Asia, LATAM, Africa, and global marketsHands-on, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with evolving processes and priorities Vision & MissionOSL is the first SFC-licensed digital asset platform in Hong Kong and a PayFi innovator.
