Geospatial Engineer / Scientist

We are looking for an experienced Geospatial Engineer/Scientist to help scale our next-generation maritime intelligence SaaS platform. Our software utilizes advanced computer vision and deep learning on high-resolution satellite imagery to detect, track, and monitor abandoned vessels and surface anomalies for environmental safety and homeland security.In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex Earth observation data and production-grade software, turning raw spatial observations into actionable intelligence for global authorities.Key ResponsibilitiesAlgorithm Development: Advance our core computer vision and deep learning workflows to optimize target detection and tracking models.Data Fusion & Pipelines: Build automated spatial workflows fusing commercial-grade satellite data (Optical and SAR) with ground-truth inputs (UAVs/USVs).Visualization & Reporting: Create advanced 2D/3D geospatial mapping components and automated reporting dashboards for mission-critical client use.System Integration: Optimize large-scale raster and vector data streaming within a cloud-based SaaS architecture.Required QualificationsWork Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Sweden (EU citizenship, valid Swedish work permit, or permanent residency). Please note that visa sponsorship is not provided for this role.Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in Remote Sensing, Satellite Imagery Analysis, or Geospatial Data Science.Technical Stack: Elite programming skills in Python (Rasterio, Geopandas, Shapely) and advanced database management using SQL and PostGIS.Domain Expertise: Deep working knowledge of handling, preprocessing, and analyzing Optical and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery.Language: Professional working proficiency in English.Preferred SkillsHands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow) applied to computer vision tasks.Experience with cloud processing environments (AWS, Google Earth Engine, or similar).What We OfferThe opportunity to work on high-stakes, dual-use technology spanning environmental conservation and defense.Highly collaborative engineering team using a modern tech stack.
