Governance, Risk & Compliance Lead

Blair West are retained by XTEL to partner in the appointment of a Governance, Risk & Compliance Lead to join its growing Information Assurance and Compliance function. XTEL is a global SaaS and AI-driven technology business operating at scale across international markets. As the organisation continues its rapid growth, this position will play a central role in ensuring its security, compliance, governance, risk management, and sustainability programmes remain robust, scalable, and aligned with both customer and regulatory expectations. Working closely with senior stakeholders across Technology, Product, Engineering, HR, and Operations, you'll help shape and evolve a mature compliance programme while identifying opportunities to modernise, automate, and improve governance processes. The opportunity:You'll take ownership of governance, risk, and compliance initiatives across the business, helping ensure security controls, compliance obligations, and risk management activities support continued growth and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include:Managing the ongoing operation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the organisation's Information Security Management System (ISMS).Developing, reviewing, and maintaining security policies, standards, procedures, and governance documentation.Leading and coordinating internal and external audits, including ISO 27001 and SOC 2 assessments.Monitoring compliance obligations across multiple frameworks, including ISO 27001, SOC 2, SOC 1/ISAE 3402, GDPR, and NIS2.Conducting risk assessments and overseeing risk treatment planning and tracking activities.Leading Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) activities, ensuring effective vendor assessment and ongoing risk monitoring.Supporting customer security questionnaires, due diligence activities, and RFP responses.Contributing to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programmes through sustainability data collection, analysis, and reporting.Partnering with stakeholders across the business to implement security controls and compliance improvements.Identifying opportunities to automate, streamline, and modernise compliance and security processes.Supporting incident response processes, business continuity planning, disaster recovery testing, and resilience initiatives.Acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on governance, risk, compliance, and regulatory matters. You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:4+ years' experience in Governance, Risk & Compliance, Information Security, Risk Management, or related disciplines.Experience operating within B2B SaaS or technology-led environments.Proven experience managing ISO 27001 and SOC 2 programmes and coordinating external audits.A strong understanding of Information Security Management Systems and governance best practices.Experience conducting risk assessments and managing remediation programmes.The ability to manage multiple priorities and concurrent projects across different business functions.Strong written and verbal English communication skills.A proactive and pragmatic approach to solving business and compliance challenges.Experience engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across an organisation.A passion for improving processes and leveraging technology to enhance compliance effectiveness.
