Head of IT Operations and Support
Step into a key leadership role at the heart of Saab’s digital transformation. As Head of IT Operations & Support within Group IT, you will lead group-wide IT operations and end-user services, ensuring that Saab’s employees are supported by reliable, secure, and customer-focused technology services in an increasingly digital and globally connected environment. You will play a key role in enabling Saab's digital transformation by supporting the adoption of AI, cloud-based technologies, automation, and modern digital platforms.
Your role
As Head of IT Operations & Support within Saab Group IT, you will be responsible for the delivery and development of key IT operations and support capabilities, including service desk, IT operations, asset management, configuration management, incident management, and problem management.
You will drive Saab’s IT transformation agenda forward, ensuring adoption of AI, cloud-native technologies, automation, and modern digital platforms. This requires close alignment between business needs, operational delivery, and digital workplace services across Business Areas and Group Functions.
The role includes line management of senior leaders and close collaboration across the organisation to ensure cohesion between strategic direction and operational execution.
In this role, you will
Lead and transform Saab’s IT Operations & Support capabilities, ensuring reliable, secure, and customer-focused IT services in a rapidly growing and global organisationDrive transformation with focus on cloud, AI and modernisationEnable employees to work effectively through high-quality support services and digital workplace experiencesEnsure stable and resilient IT operations through effective incident, problem, asset, and configuration managementDefine and drive the roadmap for IT Operations & Support, including increased self-service, remote capabilities, automation, improved ITSM governance, and enhanced operational reportingDrive continuous improvement by reducing recurring incidents and improving service quality and operational efficiencyOversee staffing, tools, and vendor services, balancing cost-efficiency with exceptional service deliveryRepresent Group IT in cross-functional forums and engage with senior business and technology stakeholders
This is a highly visible position that involves frequent interaction with executive stakeholders, and you will report directly to the Saab Group CIO. You will play a central role in ensuring resilient business operations, exceptional end-user support, and a modern digital workplace experience across the enterprise.
Your profile
We are looking for a senior leader with extensive experience managing complex IT organisations in a global context, combined with deep expertise in IT operations, service management and support.
You have a strong track record of driving transformation and operational improvements, with focus on cloud, AI and modern IT infrastructure. Combined with a deep understanding of IT service management, digital workplace services, operational excellence, and modern technology environments including cloud and automation.
You are a relationship-oriented leader who is comfortable representing IT at senior management level, lead through others, and drive change in large organisations.
You have a strategic, data-driven mindset with the vision and expertise to deliver impactful IT solutions that drive business success.
Key qualifications and experience
Academic degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experienceMinimum 10 years of IT management experience, including several years of leadership of leadersExtensive experience in IT operations, IT service management, service desk, incident and problem management, asset management, and digital workplace services (digital devices and workplace equipment)Relevant experience from ITIL and ITSM-processesA strong background in IT support or management, with proven success in driving both tactical and strategic improvementsProven experience driving transformation with focus on cloud, AI and modern IT infrastructure and large-scale technology initiativesExperience from large global organisations; ideally including defenceExcellent communication skills and ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapesFluency in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken
