About usGirls at Tech Nordics is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the number of women in the tech industry across the Nordics by inspiring girls and non-binary youth early on. Founded in 2017 and formalized as a non-profit in 2022 by Vanessa Eriksson and Ulrika Andersson, the initiative focuses on hands-on experiences, early exposure to technology and science, and visible role models. Recognized as Initiative of the Year at the Nordic Women in Tech Awards 2024, Girls at Tech Nordics is driven by long-term impact and strong community engagement. Through partnerships with industry, academia, and the public sector, the organization helps young people build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging in tech, contributing to a more diverse and sustainable tech ecosystem across generations. Role Description The Head of Marketing and Public Relations is a volunteer, hybrid remote role, based in Stockholm. This role leads the development and execution of marketing and communications strategies to increase awareness of Girls at Tech Nordics, its mission, and programs. Day-to-day tasks include planning campaigns, managing social media and website content, coordinating press and media outreach, and ensuring consistent branding across all channels. The person in this role will collaborate closely with founders, volunteers, partners, and community stakeholders, supporting events, speaking opportunities, and public engagement activities. The Head of Marketing and Public Relations will also monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies to strengthen reach and impact. This role is expected to take 4-6 hours of your week. QualificationsDemonstrated experience in marketing strategy, brand positioning, and campaign planning.Strong public relations skills, including media outreach, press communication, and stakeholder engagement.Proficiency in digital marketing tools and channels, such as social media management, email marketing, and basic analytics.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.Experience with content creation and editing for web, social media, and newsletters.Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, partners, and community organizations, and to represent the organization professionally in public settings.Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.Previous experience in non-profit, education, diversity and inclusion, or tech-related initiatives is highly beneficial.Fluency in English; proficiency in Swedish or other Nordic languages is an advantage.Motivation to advance gender diversity and inclusion in tech, and availability to regularly attend on-site meetings and events in the Stockholm area as prio, but also the Nordics region.
