Information Security Engineer

At Axiell, we develop innovative software solutions that help cultural institutions such as libraries, museums, and archives share knowledge with the world. As part of our continued growth, we are now looking for an Information Security Engineer to strengthen our Security & Architecture team. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping, implementing, and maintaining our global security posture across cloud and hybrid environments. You will work closely with colleagues across IT and architecture, ensuring security, compliance, and resilience in both internal and customer-facing systems. You will be involved in everything from developing security controls and managing incidents to supporting audits, working with stakeholders, and continuously improving our security capabilities in line with evolving threats and industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working hands-on with modern security technologies while also contributing strategically to a global organization. This position may occasionally require after-hours support during critical incidents. The position is based in Lund, Sweden with the possibility to work part time from home. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud and hosted environmentsManage Microsoft security platforms and related solutionsMonitor systems, detect threats, and lead incident response activitiesDrive vulnerability management and remediation processesSupport audits, compliance efforts, and customer requirementsCollaborate with IT, product, and other business stakeholders to translate needs into secure solutionsContinuously monitor emerging threats and improve security practices Qualifications Technical SkillsStrong experience with Microsoft security stack (Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, Purview)Experience working with Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, AWS, and hybrid/cloud environmentsSolid knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, PCI-DSS)Experience in security incident management (end-to-end lifecycle)Knowledge of vulnerability management and remediationExperience with on-prem environments (Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, Cisco networking)Familiarity with Azure Arc and hybrid cloud solutionsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Soft SkillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsStructured and analytical mindsetAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAdaptability and continuous learning mindset Why Join Axiell?At Axiell, you’ll be part of a purpose-driven organization where technology meets culture.
