My client is at an exciting stage of its growth journey. Having established a strong market position and a resilient recurring revenue model, the company is now focused on accelerating growth through both organic initiatives and strategic acquisitions. With a clear value creation plan and a potential exit process on the horizon, the business is entering a critical period of transformation. The Role:This is a hands-on, commercially focused CFO role within a growing software business at a pivotal stage of its development. Working closely with the CEO, board, and investors, the successful candidate will provide strategic financial leadership, support acquisition activity, and help drive the business through its next phase of growth and value creation. The role requires an experienced finance leader who can combine strong commercial acumen with operational execution, challenge business performance, enhance decision-making, and build credibility with stakeholders from day one. Experience in high-growth, investor-backed, SaaS or technology environments, alongside a track record of M&A and exit preparation, will be highly advantageous. Key Responsibilities:Partner with the CEO, board, and investors to provide strategic financial leadership and support key business decisions.Lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis, challenging assumptions and identifying growth opportunities.Support ongoing M&A activity and play a key role in preparing the business for a potential exit process.Own board reporting, investor communications, and the delivery of clear, actionable financial insights.Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring strong controls, reporting, and operational efficiency.Act as a commercial business partner to the wider leadership team, helping drive growth and value creation.Provide immediate leadership and stability during a period of transition, allowing the CEO to focus on core business priorities. Your Background:Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience at CFO or senior finance leadership level.Proven track record in high-growth, investor-backed SaaS, software, or technology businesses.Strong M&A and transaction experience, including exposure to exit preparation.Commercially minded with the ability to partner closely with CEOs, boards, and investors.Hands-on leader who can quickly assess priorities, drive performance, and deliver immediate impact.
