Arkeon is a Chalmers and WACQT spin-out. We trim Josephson junctions electrically after fabrication, so a qubit ends up at the frequency it was designed for. Frequency collisions are one of the reasons a good superconducting chip gets scrapped today. We just closed our seed round. Right now we are about two and a half full time people. Everything we do rests on one prediction. We measure a junction's resistance at room temperature and say what the qubit frequency will be once the chip is cold. If that is off, we trim to the wrong target. Making that prediction hold is the job. You would own the resistance to frequency prediction and test it against real devices, work on the oxide barrier itself (relaxation, aging, spread across a wafer), and decide what the trim should aim for. You would also be talking to customers. We are too small to have a separate sales person, so whoever understands the junctions is also the one presenting results, answering questions in meetings and doing sales. You have to want that part of it too. What you need:- PhD in engineering physics, quantum engineering or similar, or the same level of experience from industry.- Work on tunnel junctions, thin-film transport or superconducting devices.- You have measured devices yourself, not only analysed data somebody else took.- You can explain your work to a customer and take part in selling it.- Cryogenic measurement experience is a plus. Remember that this is a startup. Send a CV and a few sentences about what you have measured or built. No cover letter. I read every application myself. Peter Hörstedtpeter@arkeontech.com
