The Role
We are seeking a Lead Verification Engineer to join our Product Verification Group in Järfälla. In this role, you will lead product verification activities throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring our next-generation optoelectronic products meet performance, quality and reliability expectations.
You Will Be Responsible For
Leading verification activities for new product development projects and acting as the Verification Lead across multidisciplinary teams.Defining and owning product verification plans, ensuring activities are aligned with project timelines, milestones and product requirements.Planning and executing verification programmes, including sample builds, measurement requirements and test system specifications.Analysing characterization data and preparing technical reports to support design optimisation and engineering decision-making.Identifying and communicating technical risks, limitations and gaps while ensuring successful project delivery.Producing technical documentation to support knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and long-term capability development.Collaborating closely with teams across Chip Design, Test Development, Wafer Fabrication, Assembly & Test and Manufacturing Engineering across multiple sites.Maintaining awareness of emerging technologies, tools and verification methodologies to continuously improve verification capabilities.
About You
You are an experienced engineer with a passion for solving complex technical challenges and leading verification activities within a collaborative, cross-functional environment. You combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to delivering results.
You Will Also Have
A Master's or PhD degree in Engineering, Physics or a related scientific discipline.A minimum of five years' experience in optoelectronics, semiconductors, electrical engineering or engineering physics.Strong knowledge of optoelectronic and semiconductor devices and associated technologies.Experience with Test & Measurement (T&M), test automation and laboratory environments, including optoelectronic and RF testing.Expertise in device characterization, semiconductor data acquisition, statistical analysis and design of experiments.Experience working with test development, laboratory hardware and automation systems.Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively across functions, sites and technical disciplines.A demonstrated ability to communicate risks, assumptions and results clearly and objectively.Fluent English language skills; Swedish is considered a strong advantage.

About The Team
With an increasing demand for the company's world-leading laser components – which are used in large data centers and 5G networks – Coherent (formerly II-VI) is now expanding in Jarfalla and is looking for around twenty new engineers. As one of the world's most recognized material manufacturers of compound semiconductors, the American company Coherent is today at 73 locations in 18 countries. Among others the USA, China, Australia, Germany and Switzerland.
At the Swedish facility in Jarfalla, development and production of laser and modulator components within optoelectronics takes place. A product that is not manufactured elsewhere within the company. Around 250 people currently work at the plant: operators, technicians, process engineers, development engineers and software engineers.
In order to enable the continued development of a sustainable digital society - where large data centers and the expansion of the 5G network are important parts - the demand for the components that Coherent in Jarfalla manufactures is constantly increasing. Therefore, they are now scaling up and expanding their production – and thus need to expand their team with 20 new engineers.
