In this role, you will add value to PXP by: As a Legal Counsel, you will be a vital contributor to our legal operations, ensuring that we navigate industry regulations with expertise and integrity. Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you'll be at the heart of impactful projects and cross-border legal matters, playing an essential role in shaping our operations across multiple regions. A typical week as a Legal Counsel might involve: Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, covering areas such as customer agreements, partnerships, service provider arrangements, privacy compliance, and information security to ensure clarity and protection across our business relationships.Provide expert guidance on key regulatory matters, including payments, banking, anti-money laundering, and other relevant compliance areas, helping to drive informed decision-making.Proactively identify, assess, and manage legal and contractual risks, ensuring we minimize exposure while supporting strategic objectives.Coordinate with notary offices for essential legal procedures and filings, ensuring seamless compliance and efficient handling of legal formalities.Oversee the shareholder register, managing updates to share ownership and maintaining accuracy for governance and transparency.Support a broad range of legal matters that arise within a dynamic legal department, offering flexibility and contributing to continuous improvement. We are looking for someone who: A university degree in Law or equivalent legal qualification, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a corporate legal environment, preferably in the financial services or payments sector.Strong knowledge of payment processing regulations, compliance issues, and contract law as it pertains to payment solutions and technology.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory issues and provide clear, actionable advice.Proficient communication skills, capable of conveying legal concepts to non-legal audiences and effectively negotiating with external partners and vendors.Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. We would love someone to have any of the following: Familiarity with international payment regulations and compliance frameworksExperience with technology-related agreements, such as software licensing and service level agreements related to payment processing and orchestration.Knowledge of risk management principles in the context of payment processing and fraud prevention.A proactive approach to identifying and resolving legal issues, with a focus on enhancing the security and compliance of our payment solutions.Understanding of intellectual property considerations relevant to payment technologies and data protection regulations.
