Master thesis - Degree work
Are you in the final stages of a mathematical or engineering program and have a strong interest in the financial markets?
Lynx is offering an opportunity for students to do their degree project with us during the spring semester of 2027.
Lynx Asset Management is a quantitative hedge fund based in Stockholm. We apply scientific methods to create systematic investment strategies aimed at providing our clients with high risk-adjusted returns and attractive portfolio properties. Innovation has been part of our DNA since we started in 1999. At Lynx, we have managed to create a workplace where academic methods and a relentless focus on results are nourished by a friendly, collegial culture. The well-being of our employees is especially important to us as they are the ones who make us successful. Lynx actively strives toward being an inclusive workplace, and we see diversity as a prerequisite for future success.
Previous topics for a MSc thesis at Lynx have ranged from investigating the potential of alternative datasets for signal generation to exploring novel portfolio construction techniques, applying machine learning methods in systematic trading or exploring theory and numerical methods for modeling market impact from our trades.
The thesis work will be conducted from our office in central Stockholm to facilitate collaboration and supervision. Please attach cover letter, CV and grading certificate in PDF format. If two students intend to apply as a pair, please submit two separate applications, each with CV and transcript of grades, but clearly state your intent and with whom you are applying in each of them. We believe that diverse perspectives strengthen our research and encourage all qualified students to apply.
The deadline for applications is November 8th.
