Master thesis Optimization of Baseband
Join our Team
We are seeking a talented Master's student to conduct a research thesis on optimizing flow dynamics and acoustic performance of a baseband fan tray system. This role combines computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation with experimental prototype testing, offering hands-on experience in thermal and acoustic engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and validate CFD models such as (ANSYS Fluent / PowerFlow CFD) to simulate the flow field and noise generation in the fan trayConduct parametric studies to identify design improvements for flow efficiency and noise reductionDesign, build, and test physical prototypes based on CFD predictionsPerform acoustic and thermal measurements on prototypesCompare simulation results with experimental data and iterate on designsDocument findings and prepare thesis with recommendations for further productionCollaborate with engineering team to ensure technical feasibility
Required Skills And Qualifications
Enrolled in or recently admitted to a Master's program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fieldStrong foundation in fluid mechanics and thermodynamicsExperience or willingness to quickly learn CFD tools and techniquesBasic knowledge of CAD tools and handling(e.g., Creo, SpaceClaim)Experience with experimental testing and data analysisSolid technical writing and communication abilitiesProblem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Previous CFD project experienceFamiliarity with acoustic simulation or noise measurement techniquesExperience with design optimization methodologyProgramming skills (Python, MATLAB) for post-processing
What We Offer
Mentorship from experienced engineers, access to industry-standard tools, and the opportunity to contribute to a real product development cycle.
