Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in Helsinki. The Mechanical Engineer will design and optimize mechanical components and systems used in pipeline and communication infrastructure, ensuring reliability, safety, and efficiency. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing mechanical calculations, creating and reviewing CAD models and technical drawings, and contributing to equipment selection and specification. The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting installation and commissioning activities, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and contributing to continuous improvement and R&D initiatives. The Mechanical Engineer will also assist with project documentation, risk assessments, and adherence to industry standards and company policies. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Engineering skills, including fundamentals of mechanics, materials, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.Candidates should possess Machine Design skills, such as component sizing, stress analysis, and reliability considerations for rotating and static equipment.Candidates should possess Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills for creating, modifying, and reviewing 2D/3D models and mechanical drawings.Candidates should possess Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, coordination with stakeholders, and progress reporting.Candidates should possess Research and Development (R&D) skills for evaluating new technologies, improving existing designs, and supporting innovation initiatives.Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.Beneficial skills include familiarity with pipeline systems, oil and gas industry standards, and mechanical integrity and reliability practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams are expected.Experience with technical documentation, compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and proficiency in English are advantageous.
