Network Security Engineer - OT Security, Palo Alto & Fortigate

Experienced Network Security Engineer specializing in Cyber Security and enterprise firewall policy governance across hybrid IT/OT environments. Responsible for defining, reviewing, and enforcing traffic controls across Palo Alto Networks, FortiGate, mGuard, and AWS security services. Initial 6 months Fully remote - can be based anywhere in Europe Day rate - Euro Core Responsibilities Manage end-to-end firewall rule lifecycle, including intake, risk assessment, approval, validation, and periodic recertification.Palo Alto Networks firewalls (Security Policies, NAT, App-ID, Zone-based enforcement)mGuard industrial firewalls (OT segmentation, filtering sets, inbound/outbound rule enforcement)Meraki and SD-WAN edge devices (Access Control List)Lead a project to define a process, collaborate and enforce ingress and egress traffic policies based on intelligence and approved connectivity requirements.Analyze traffic flows and exposure risks across enterprise, cloud, and OT networks.Implement and govern security controls in: Palo Alto Networks, mGuard, Fortigate and AWSCollaborate with infrastructure, cloud, OT, and application teams to ensure least-privilege connectivity.Support threat mitigation activities by enforcing IP block lists and exposure reduction controls across network security platforms.Perform rule reviews, firewall cleanup initiatives, and compliance assessments to reduce attack surface.Troubleshoot connectivity issues while maintaining security posture and regulatory compliance.
