Product Security Engineer

The Role We are looking for a Product Security Engineer to join the team responsible for securing Action1’s multi-tenant SaaS platform. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, product, and security teams to identify risks early, support vulnerability handling, strengthen secure development practices, and make product security practical, clear, and actionable. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands both software engineering and cybersecurity, enjoys working directly with developers, and wants to build security into the product without slowing teams down unnecessarily. What you'll do: Support Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) and vulnerability-handling activitiesValidate, triage, track, and coordinate security reportsProvide practical remediation guidance to engineering teamsHelp validate security fixes and reduce product security risksReview code, APIs, and system architecture to identify security issues earlyConduct threat modeling and security design reviewsImprove security automation within engineering workflowsSupport SAST, SCA, secrets scanning, and other security controlsMaintain software bills of materials (SBOMs), dependency visibility, and remediation follow-upSupport security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testingMaintain vulnerability-handling playbooks, product security procedures, and incident response runbooks What we are looking for: 3+ years of experience in product security, application security, DevSecOps, or a related cybersecurity fieldStrong software engineering background and the ability to work effectively with engineering teamsUnderstanding of application, API, infrastructure, and software supply chain security risksExperience applying cloud security concepts and practicesUnderstanding of identity and access management, network security, logging, monitoring, and secure cloud architecture patternsFamiliarity with vulnerability management, incident response, security assessments, and secure software development lifecycle practicesExperience with threat modeling and security design reviewsStrong communication skills, including professional communication with external security researchers and vendorsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment Nice to have: Genuine interest in cybersecurity and motivation to grow as a product security expertHands-on experience with AWS security controls, best practices, and architecture patternsHands-on experience with C++ or JavaScriptExperience with security testing and automation using scripts, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, or specialized toolsExperience conducting threat modeling for SaaS, API, cloud, or on-premises product componentsExperience with SBOM generation, dependency visibility, or software supply chain security What we offer: A fully remote work environmentThe opportunity to work on a real-world security product used by IT and security teamsHigh ownership and a direct impact on product security practicesClose collaboration with engineering, product, and security teamsA fast-growing software company with low bureaucracy and practical decision-makingThe opportunity to improve security processes, automation, and engineering workflowsA supportive team that values clear thinking, ownership, and continuous learning
