Just outside Malmö you find a leading paint company with a focus on innovation and sustainability. One of the Nordic region's largest sites where we develop, manufacture, market and sell paint for indoor and outdoor environments for consumers, customers and industry. The business mainly consists of two companies. Akzo Nobel Industrial Coatings, a leader in the sale and manufacture of paints and coatings for industrial surface treatment for wood products such as windows, doors, floors, and furniture. Some of the customers are IKEA, Montana, Inwido and Tarkett. The other company Akzo Nobel Decorative Coatings develops, manufactures, distributes, and sells paints, varnishes, putty and wood protection products to professional painters and consumers. The portfolio includes the well-known brands Nordsjö, Sadolin and Cuprinol.

About The Role

As Projects Manager – Energy, you will play a central role in driving the energy agenda at our Malmö site forward. Working across production areas, buildings and utilities, you will identify opportunities, lead improvement initiatives and ensure that energy-saving projects are successfully implemented and followed up.

This is a broad and business-critical role where you combine technical expertise with project leadership and stakeholder management. You will collaborate closely with functions such as Engineering, Maintenance, Production, HSE and Procurement, while also acting as an important counterpart towards external contractors and facility management partners.

The position offers a great opportunity to make a visible impact by improving operational efficiency, reducing energy consumption and supporting long-term sustainability targets in a modern industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

Lead and execute the Malmö Site Energy Roadmap Drive energy efficiency projects from concept to implementation Identify and prioritize opportunities for energy and cost savings Monitor energy performance, KPIs and metering systems Develop business cases, project scopes and implementation plans Coordinate energy-related activities across the site Optimize HVAC, BMS, ventilation and utility performance Challenge and coordinate facility management and external contractors Support shutdown and non-production energy reduction initiatives Follow up, verify and report realized savings and project results

This is a full-time position on a two-year fixed-term contract, based in Arlöv, just outside Malmö. You will report to the Project Manager Lead.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who enjoys combining analytical thinking with hands-on project execution. You are comfortable working in a dynamic industrial environment where collaboration, initiative and continuous improvement are key to success.

You have the ability to build strong relationships across different functions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. At the same time, you are confident in challenging existing ways of working and driving improvements that create long-term value for the business.

To succeed in this role, you should have a structured approach, strong problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in energy efficiency and sustainable operations.

Key qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy or another relevant Engineering field Experience in industrial energy management and/or energy efficiency projects Project management experience within industrial or manufacturing environments Knowledge of industrial utilities, energy systems and energy monitoring Experience working with HVAC/BMS and related optimization activities Ability to develop technical and financial business cases Strong stakeholder and contractor management skills Fluent English communication skills

Meritorious / preferred

Swedish language skills Experience with ISO 50001 Previous experience as an Energy Engineer or Industrial Energy Manager Experience with energy KPI and metering systems Background in CAPEX/OPEX project delivery Experience implementing energy-saving initiatives in industrial environments
