Senior AI Engineer

Deerdata is a Stockholm-based consulting firm helping companies succeed with data, analytics, and AI. Our AI practice is growing fast, and we take ideas from strategy through to real, live systems in production. We're looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our AI & Agentic team. You're a strong software engineer at your core, and you've shipped AI systems people actually use: agents with real tool access, retrieval and memory layers that hold up against messy customer data, and assistants that face end users without a human babysitting them. You know that a demo is easy and production is hard, and you enjoy closing that gap. What you'll doDesign and build customer-facing AI solutions, including agentic systems, GenAI applications, and voice/chat interfaces, from prototype to productionOwn the engineering craft: clean, testable code, sensible architecture, CI/CD, observability, cost and latency awarenessWork directly with clients as a trusted technical partner, translating business problems into concrete AI solutionsMentor and support junior engineers on the team, and help shape our internal engineering standards and reusable componentsStay ahead of the frontier: evaluate new models, frameworks, and patterns, and bring the right ones into our work We're looking for someone who has5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong grounding in Python and modern backend or full-stack developmentHands-on experience building AI-powered products in production, ideally with LLMs, agent frameworks (LangGraph, LlamaIndex, ADK or similar), RAG, and vector and graph databasesComfort with at least one major cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and modern deployment practices (containers, IaC, CI/CD)A pragmatic mindset: you care about accuracy, latency, cost, safety, and maintainability, not just what looks good in a notebookStrong communication skills in English, and the confidence to work directly with client stakeholders.
