Senior Backend Developer, Internal Platform

We are hiring an experienced backend developer for our internal command center: the system of record for every GPU, node, rack, and cluster we operate. It tracks hardware lifecycle from procurement to decommissioning, real-time fleet health, capacity allocation across customers and pools, and how consumption reconciles against contracts and revenue. Every internal team will rely on what you build.

Being the early backend hire means larger ownership and expectations. You will design and own the core domain models, event-driven workflows, and integrations against live infrastructure telemetry, provisioning, billing, and incident tooling, and you will set the engineering standards others will follow as the team builds out around you. We are looking for someone who reads that as an opportunity, not a warning.

Your Responsibilities

Design and build the backend services for our internal platformOwn data modeling for systems where correctness matters: lifecycle state machines, audit trails, and event histories that operators must be able to trustBuild and maintain integrations with GPU telemetry, provisioning, billing, PagerDuty, and ticketing systemsDesign APIs consumed by internal teams and, over time, by automation across the platformDrive performance, reliability, and data freshnessRaise the bar on CI/CD, test coverage, and deployment practicesApply information security principles to engineering decisionsWork closely with Cloud, SRE, datacenter teams and sales, and communicate clearly with stakeholders across the company

Your key competencies

5+ years of backend engineering experience, with systems you have owned end to end in productionStrong proficiency with TypeScript on the backend (we use Node, with React on the frontend)Proficiency with Go, or proven depth in another systems language and a clear willingness to make Go a daily toolStrong SQL skills and a track record of designing data models that stay correct under concurrency, state transitions, and audit requirementsExperience designing, building, and operating service architectures, event-driven workflows, and REST APIsComfort integrating with complex external systems: telemetry streams, webhooks, third-party APIs, and the failure modes that come with themThe judgment to work autonomously in a high-ambiguity, high-stakes team environment

Practicalities

Hybrid mode: This role requires presence in our Helsinki office 3 days per week.Employment type: Full-time and permanent.
