Senior Chemist - Hair Color

Optify Search are currently partnered with a leading Hair Care Manufacturer seeking a Senior Hair Color Chemist. This is an ON-SITE position in the Netherlands, relocation can be supported! Responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):Develop innovative hair color formulations, including permanent, demi-permanent, semi-permanent, bleach, toner, and developer systems, in line with customer briefs, market trends, performance requirements, and regulatory guidelines.Manage end-to-end product development projects, from concept and bench formulation through testing, pilot batches, scale-up, validation, and commercial launch.Troubleshoot formulation and manufacturing challenges to ensure product stability, efficacy, safety, and consistency.Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to deliver products on time and within specification.Conduct performance evaluations, stability studies, and compatibility testing to support new product development and existing product optimization. To be considered for the role, the following education, experience and qualifications are required:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline.5+ years of formulation experience within hair color, hair care, or professional salon products, with hands-on experience developing oxidative color systems preferred.Strong understanding of hair color chemistry, including dyes, developers, bleaching systems, toners, and color maintenance products.Experience managing formulation projects from concept through commercialization and scale-up.Knowledge of cosmetic regulatory requirements, product testing, and manufacturing processes.
