Role Description As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Svekon, you will lead and execute mechanical design projects from concept through detailed design, prototyping, testing, and industrialization. You will be responsible for developing robust mechanical solutions, creating and reviewing 3D models and drawings, selecting materials and production methods, and ensuring that designs meet functional, safety, and quality requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers, provide technical guidance to colleagues, and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and tools. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Solna, where you will work directly with project stakeholders and participate in design reviews and project planning. Qualifications Strong mechanical engineering skills, including mechanical design, structural analysis, and product development.Proficiency in modern CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor or similar) and experience with 3D modeling and technical drawings.Experience with manufacturing processes, materials selection, and design for manufacturability and assembly.Ability to lead projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and mentor less experienced engineers.Good understanding of relevant standards, regulations, and quality assurance practices within mechanical design.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and a structured approach to documentation and communication.Ability to work on-site in Solna and collaborate effectively with customers and suppliers; fluency in English, and Swedish proficiency is an advantage.
