Python Software Developer – BESS & ECUWe are looking for an experienced Python Software Developer / Software Consultant with a strong background in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), ECU systems and embedded software environments.The assignment is focused on software development in Python, supporting the development and integration of software solutions connected to BESS, ECUs and embedded control systems.You will work in a technically advanced environment where software interacts with embedded systems, controllers, communication networks and hardware. The role requires strong software development skills combined with a good understanding of how ECUs and energy storage systems operate.Key responsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain software solutions primarily in Python.Develop software for applications connected to BESS, battery systems and ECUs.Develop interfaces and applications communicating with embedded controllers and other system components.Work with communication protocols and interfaces such as CAN, CAN FD and Modbus.Develop tools and applications for data acquisition, diagnostics, monitoring and control.Process and analyze operational and diagnostic data from BESS and ECU systems.Integrate Python applications with embedded software, controllers and hardware.Troubleshoot complex software and system-level issues.Contribute to software architecture, implementation, integration and verification.Develop clean, maintainable and well-structured production-quality software. Required skills and experience+5 years of professional software development experience.Strong professional experience in Python software development.Experience developing production software, not primarily test and verification scripts.Experience from BESS, battery systems, energy storage, automotive ECUs or similar embedded control systems.Good understanding of ECU architecture and embedded systems.Experience with communication protocols such as CAN/CAN FD and/or Modbus.Experience integrating software with hardware, controllers or embedded systems.Good understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming and modular software design.Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Comfortable working with complex interactions between software, embedded systems and physical hardware.Mandatory to have Swedish work permit - Applicants not in Sweden will not be considered. You should have substantial hands-on experience designing and implementing software in Python and be comfortable taking responsibility for software from requirements and architecture through implementation and integration.You combine strong software engineering skills with an understanding of BESS, battery technology, ECUs or embedded control systems and enjoy working at the interface between software and real-world systems.
