Technical Engineer (Data Sanitization & Information Security)

Reporting to: Production Engineering & Quality Manager Locations: Helsinki, Espoo, or Vantaa - FinlandVäxjö, Linköping or Stockholm - Sweden Job role and purpose: Unified Production & Logistics (UPL) provides secure, cost-efficient, and environmentally responsible solutions for all customers in LCM and LCS businesses. The goal is to deliver quality services on time, while adhering to national regulations, group policies, and industry best practices. The Technical Engineer (Data Sanitization & Information Security), is responsible for developing, maintaining, and scaling media sanitization & production tools capabilities. This role ensures secure, compliant, sanitization of returned devices while also driving the development of new media sanitization products and innovative solutions aligned with evolving business needs, market standards, and technological advancements. Technical Engineer (Data Sanitization & Information Security) also supports Joint Venture (between 3stepIT and BNP Paribas) and external customers when we deliver services, remote and in their environment. Main responsibilities & tasks: Own and continuously develop the end-to-end media sanitization portfolio, while actively identifying, evaluating, and introducing new hardware, software, and workflow solutions that meet customer and business needs.Proactively plan and optimize sanitization capacity, tooling, and technical setupEnsure alignment with media sanitization standards and industry best practicesReduce warehouse stock of non-sanitized devicesEnable faster refurbishment cycles and maximize remarketing valueIdentify and lead innovative initiatives within media sanitization and new technologies (software & products)Drive development and implementation of new media sanitization products and servicesDrive cross-functional initiatives with stakeholders to evaluate and implement new solutionsSupport expansion into new business lines by adapting sanitization solutions & products to different product typesProvide support to production sites in resolving complex sanitization issues and contribute to sales cases as neededNew center, set-up and implementationAny additional tasks or duties in UPL defined by the employer Qualifications and experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalentMinimum 2 years of experience in information securityExperience with security controls, incident handling, and supportFamiliarity with ISO 27001, R2V3 (or similar frameworks) and regulations (e.g., GDPR, NIS2) is an advantageStrong knowledge in NIST SP800-88Understanding of basic application security and software development practicesExperience with security tools/vendors is a plusRelevant certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS) are an advantage Skills & Competencies: Strong communication skills and customer-oriented mindsetAbility to assess risks, solve problems, and prioritize effectivelyHigh integrity and ability to handle confidential informationComfortable working in complex, changing environmentsProactive, solution-focused, and eager to learnFluent in Swedish or Finnish and EnglishWillingness to travel and work on-site when needed Please note that the person selected for this role needs to pass the Finnish security clearance (perusmuotoinen turvallisuus-selvitys) OR a criminal record check in Sweden prior to any employment offer.
