Test Automation Engineer for the banking sector, Helsinki

Work tasks

Specializing in payment systems, this role drives the overall quality, reliability, and continuous improvement of software delivery through technical understanding and hands-on execution.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks, formulating comprehensive test plans, and performing detailed test analysis, case design, and execution. The position requires deep analytical skills to conduct root cause analysis on complex defects within payment workflows, alongside strong stakeholder management to clearly communicate risks, testing progress, and quality standards across cross-functional teams.

We are looking for

• At least 1 year of prior work experience with test automation within a corporate or enterprise environment
• Advanced knowledge of Python, Robot Framework and Jenkins
• Good general testing knowledge to the level of ISTQB Foundation Level
• Experience with test tools and test management tools
• Fluent English skills both written and spoken
• Excellent problem-solving skills

It is meritorious if you have

• Experience and/or knowledge of payments or financial domain
• Experience managing complex systems consisting of components based on various technologies and diverse types of interfaces
• Experience with AI-assisted test automation

For at least the first 6 months, you will work on an assignment for our client in the banking industry. A credit check will be conducted for the selected individual.
