Translator Are you an experienced technical translator with strong English and Polish language skills? We are looking for a Translator (English-Polish-English) to join an international industrial engineering project for our client Metso. This is a full-time, fixed-term agency assignment through Staffpoint. The translator’s primary responsibilities include translating technical project documentation and providing consecutive interpretation in both directions, from English into Polish and from Polish into English, for an industrial engineering project. The work covers process and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with approved terminology and documentation standards. Your ResponsibilitiesTranslating technical documents from English into Polish and from Polish into EnglishTranslating project correspondence between English and PolishReviewing, revising, and editing translations in both language pairs to ensure linguistic quality and consistencyMaintaining project-specific glossaries, terminology databases, and translation memories Ensuring compliance with customer-approved terminology and project documentation standardsCoordinating and performing quality control of outsourced translationsCollaborating closely with engineering and project teams on documentation-related mattersPerforming document formatting and desktop publishing (DTP) activitiesActing as interpreter (consecutive interpretation), working in both directions between English and Polish, in project meetings and at customer site visits, which will involve business travelContributing to the overall quality and consistency of project deliverables Requirements and Competences Excellent command of English Native-level or near-native proficiency in Polish Experience in technical translation within industrial or engineering projects A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent expertise gained through extensive professional translation experience Experience using computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, ideally RWS Trados Studio Strong understanding of technical terminology and documentation practices Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines Considered an Advantage Experience in the minerals, mining, process, energy, or other heavy-industry sectors Technical or engineering educational background Experience working in project-based organizations Desktop publishing (DTP) skills Experience with terminology management and translation memory systems Personal Attributes Proactive and self-driven Collaborative and communicative, comfortable working with technical experts and engineers Motivated to continuously improve linguistic quality and consistency Team and Working Environment The translator works both as part of an experienced translation team of eight professionals and as part of the project team for the duration of the assignment. The role involves close cooperation with project engineers, delivery team, customer, partners, and other translators, in a collaborative working environment with regular meetings and access to experienced language and technical professionals.
