VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9 Upgrade Architect Title: Lead VCF 9 Upgrade ArchitectLocation: Fully Remote - EU/Nearshore candidates only (NON-EU profiles will get rejected)Duration: 6 - 12 MonthsRate: €62.50 per hour Outside IR35 (NON-EU profiles will get rejected) We are looking for an experienced Lead VCF 9 Upgrade Architect to lead the assessment, design, upgrade strategy, Low-Level Design and technical governance of a large-scale VMware Cloud Foundation 9 upgrade programme.This is a senior technical leadership role, acting as the main architecture authority across assessment, pilot and production rollout phases. Mandatory RequirementsPlease only apply if you have:Lead Architect experience on at least 3 completed VMware Cloud Foundation projectsLead Architect experience on at least 2 successfully completed VCF 9 upgrade projectsStrong hands-on expertise with VCF 9, SDDC Manager, vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, Workload Domains and Lifecycle ManagementStrong VMware NSX experienceExperience with VCF onboarding, cluster conversion, upgrade wave planning and rollback strategyExperience within large enterprise environments with multiple vCenters, enterprise storage and business-critical workloadsProven experience producing implementation-ready Low-Level Designs (LLDs)Professional English communication skills Important: General VMware or infrastructure architecture experience without proven VCF 9 upgrade leadership is not sufficient. Key ResponsibilitiesLead VCF 9 upgrade readiness assessments and architecture reviewsDefine target-state architecture, upgrade strategy and migration approachProduce and own the detailed LLDDefine workload domain, NSX, storage, lifecycle and cluster onboarding designsDefine validation, rollback and recovery strategiesLead architecture workshops and technical governanceSupport engineering teams throughout upgrade execution Desirable/BonusVCDX or VCAP certificationSAP on VMware experienceMission-critical enterprise platform experienceLarge datacentre transformation experienceFluent German language skills Candidates should be able to demonstrate previous VCF 9 upgrade engagements, including environment size, version transition, personal responsibilities and delivered outcomes.
