5G Core Test Architect / Test Lead – NTN, Automation & Cloud(Finland)

Job DescriptionLocation: Finland – Hybrid Employment Type: Contract, 12+ months Experience: 7+ years of testing experience Level: Staff / Senior Staff About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Test Lead / Test Architect to define and lead the overall testing strategy for a cloud-native 5G NTN Core platform. The role will cover functional, non-functional, security, performance, and chaos testing, as well as the design and development of test automation frameworks and network simulation tools.

Key ResponsibilitiesTest Strategy & Architecture Define the end-to-end test strategy covering functional, performance, scalability, reliability, security, and chaos testing.Architect test automation frameworks and simulator strategies covering UE/gNB/NF simulators, traffic generators, protocol conformance testing, and fault-injection tooling.Define test coverage models aligned with 3GPP conformance requirements and acceptance criteria.Protocol & Interface Validation Lead conformance validation for core-interface protocols including NGAP (N2), GTP-U (N3), PFCP (N4), NAS, PDCP-adjacent handling, and XnAP where applicable.Ensure protocol behaviour and implementation are validated against relevant technical specifications.Non-Functional & Chaos Testing Lead performance, load, scalability, and soak testing for control-plane and user-plane network functions running on Kubernetes.Validate deployments across AWS Region, Local Zone, and edge environments where applicable.Drive chaos and fault-injection testing covering pod/node failures, network partitions, feeder-link interruptions, and recovery scenarios.Define and validate security testing covering SBI authorization, mTLS, protocol fuzzing, and vulnerability scanning.Automation & Simulator Tooling Lead the development of reusable test automation frameworks and simulator tooling, including UE/gNB simulation.Establish tooling standards for CI/CD-integrated regression and interoperability testing.Leadership & Governance Mentor and provide technical guidance to test engineers on automation, simulator usage, and chaos testing.Report test status, quality metrics, risks, and key findings to project stakeholders. Mandatory Skills & Experience7+ years of testing experience with strong Telecom and 5G network-function testing expertise.Demonstrated experience leading functional, non-functional, security, and chaos testing for complex distributed systems.Strong experience designing test automation frameworks and simulator tooling, including network/protocol simulators and telecom traffic generators.Good understanding of 5G Core network functions, 3GPP interfaces/procedures, and Kubernetes-based environments.Ability to read and validate C and C++ implementations and analyse protocol behaviour at code level.Experience with automation frameworks such as Robot Framework or PyTest.Strong scripting skills in Python and/or Bash.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or an equivalent discipline. Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree and/or ISTQB Advanced Level certification or equivalent.Experience validating scalability, resilience, security, and production readiness of telecom-grade systems on AWS.Experience with chaos engineering tools such as Chaos Mesh or LitmusChaos.Experience with performance/load testing tools such as Ixia LoadCore, Spirent Landslide, or dsTest.Knowledge or experience of NTN testing, including delay-tolerant signalling, mobility/handover under satellite propagation conditions, and store-and-forward validation.Experience using modern AI assistants for test design, test-case generation, and failure analysis. if interested kindly share your CVs to remya-saras@dyneits.com
