Automotive Exterior / Interior Lighting Studio Engineer

We’re looking for a Exterior / Interior Lighting Studio Engineer for a global automotive company in Gothenburg. Description of the assignmentBeing the voice of design, communicating design intent and needs within engineeringTranslating engineering requirements into design possibilitiesTransferring and describing engineering and key legislative requirements to designGenerate feasible solutions for technically challenging areasManaging and documenting agreements between design and engineeringUnderstand design intent and contribute technical solutions to drive development in the design directionDocument feasibility of design themes and raise critical issuesSet up new light concepts in CATIA and optical softwareSecure competitive lighting solutions for design. i.e., benchmark all competitors.Tech scouting and arranging presentations/workshops with innovation companies and suppliers within the lighting field.Be updated on existing manufacturing methods and technologies Qualifications and skills required for the roleVery deep knowledge of lamp technology, engineering, and legal requirements.Capable of understanding design and proposing technical solutions to realise design intent.Automotive product concept and component design experience on both exterior and interior lighting.Preferably optical software experience (SPEOS, Lucidshape, Light tools)Complete understanding of the vehicle development processVery good CATIA and Teamcenter experienceTechnical university or equivalent, +10 years of experience in the automotive industry is required.Extensive automotive lamp concept engineering experience with an appreciation for aesthetic challenges. Experience working in a design studio is merited.An understanding of the engineering and validation processes for vehicle components and systems.A working knowledge of component manufacturing, tooling requirements and lead times.Experience supporting development of physical lamp prototypes to assess lighting concepts Personal attributesLeadership skillsAbility to work individually as well as in cross-functional teams and be able to take a leading roleHighly effective and productiveExcellent communication skills and teamwork abilitiesAbility to travel to China on occasion. You must confirm that you will not have issues obtaining a travel visa from the Chinese Visa Application Center.Fluency in English is required; Mandarin is a plus.Work will be performed in a studio in Sweden This is a full-time consultant position in Gothenburg through Incluso, starting November 2nd. It´s a six-month limited contract with the possibility of being extended.
