Now they're adding two engineers while keeping the same philosophy: small team, high bar, significant individual ownership. What you'll work onYou'll work across backend systems powering AI search and recommendations, bookings and payments, supplier integrations and the data infrastructure underneath them. This is AI in production, connected to real customers, inventory and transactions. Expect interesting problems around reliability, grounding and evaluation, changing availability, complex external APIs and systems where getting the answer wrong actually matters. It's backend-focused, but in a team this small you'll have the opportunity to work across the product when needed. What the existing team tends to have in common is a track record of doing unusually well for their level. That might mean graduating from a leading technical university, working in a high-bar engineering environment, becoming a key engineer at a successful startup, progressing through several promotions quickly, or building something technically difficult with significant impact. You don't need all of those things. An engineer who's rapidly progressed at a successful Series A startup can be every bit as interesting as someone from big tech. For this role, you'll ideally have 3+ years' experience, strong Python, excellent backend fundamentals and experience building demanding software in production. Experience with AI-powered products, recommendation systems or production ML is a bonus.
