Globe 24-7, in partnership with a leading international manufacturer of rock drilling tools and mining consumables, is recruiting a Business Development Manager – Europe & West Africa to support the continued expansion of its international mining business. This is a strategic commercial appointment offering the successful candidate the opportunity to drive growth across two important international mining regions, developing new markets and building long-term relationships with mining companies, drilling contractors, distributors and strategic partners. The role will focus on expanding the Company's presence across Europe and West Africa, representing a specialist portfolio of rock drilling tools and consumables including DTH, top hammer and tricone products. The position offers a flexible international base, depending on the successful candidate's location and circumstances. Potential locations could include South Africa, the UK, France or another mutually suitable location, with extensive international travel across Europe and Africa expected. The RoleThe Business Development Manager will lead commercial growth and market development across Europe and West Africa, with responsibility for identifying new opportunities, developing strategic accounts and expanding relationships across the mining and drilling sectors. This role requires an experienced international mining sales and business development professional with proven commercial exposure across both European and African markets.The successful candidate will work directly with mining companies, international drilling contractors and distributors, developing opportunities from initial market engagement through product qualification, field trials, commercial negotiations and recurring product adoption. The role will initially focus on priority European markets including France, Germany and the UK, alongside continued expansion across West Africa, with Ghana representing an important growth market. This is a highly autonomous international commercial position requiring strong industry relationships, technical credibility and a demonstrated ability to open new markets and convert opportunities into sustainable revenue. The ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the commercial and business development strategy across Europe and West Africa.Identify and develop new business opportunities with mining companies, drilling contractors, distributors and strategic partners.Drive commercial growth across DTH, top hammer, tricone and related drilling consumables.Develop new territories and establish sustainable market presence across priority European and African mining jurisdictions.Build and manage a strong pipeline of strategic commercial opportunities.Develop long-term relationships with senior decision-makers across mining, procurement, operations, drilling and technical functions.Build relationships with major international drilling contractors and identify opportunities across multiple operations and jurisdictions.Lead product trials, technical evaluations and product qualification programmes with prospective customers.Convert successful product trials into recurring orders and wider product adoption across customer operations.Develop strategic account plans covering customer demand, product requirements, competitive positioning and long-term growth opportunities.Lead commercial proposals, tenders, pricing and contract negotiations.Gather and analyse competitor intelligence across products, pricing, performance, availability and commercial positioning.Develop and manage distributor and channel relationships across priority markets.Work closely with technical, manufacturing, supply chain and management teams to support customer requirements and commercial growth.Manage pricing, margins, commercial terms and credit considerations across strategic accounts.Represent the Company at customer meetings, mine sites, industry events and relevant trade exhibitions across Europe and Africa. The RequirementsMinimum 5-10 years' sales and/or business development experience within the mining and drilling industry.Proven international sales and business development experience across both European and African mining markets is essential.Previous experience working for a leading drilling tools, drilling consumables, mining equipment or related mining technology manufacturer strongly preferred.Strong existing relationships with mining companies, drilling contractors and/or distributors.Demonstrated experience developing new markets, territories and strategic accounts within the mining industry.Strong understanding of surface mining and drilling applications.Technical knowledge of DTH, top hammer, tricone bits and related rock drilling consumables highly advantageous.Experience managing product trials, technical qualification and product adoption within mining operations.Strong understanding of mining procurement processes, tenders and commercial negotiations.Proven commercial capability across pricing, margins, contracts, credit and channel management.Ability to develop relationships across procurement, operational and technical stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously across multiple international markets and cultures.Strong communication, negotiation, relationship management and commercial influencing skills.Professional fluency in English is essential, with French highly advantageous.Additional European language capability would be advantageous.
