The opportunityThis role is focused on strategic business development, consultative relationship building, and qualified opportunity generation.You will identify and engage prospective clients, develop relationships with key decision-makers, understand their research and evidence-generation needs, and secure qualified business opportunities. Exafield's leadership and operational teams will partner with you on capability presentations, solution design, proposals, pricing, contract negotiations, and closing new business.This position is ideal for a commercially minded professional who enjoys opening doors, navigating complex healthcare organizations, and developing long-term, value-based partnerships in an international environment. What you will doBusiness Development & ProspectingIdentify and research new client opportunities across markets.Generate qualified leads within CROs, RWE/RWR and other relevant healthcare organizations.Map target accounts, business units, therapeutic areas, and key stakeholders involved in market research, patient research, real-world evidence, medical affairs, and clinical research.Build and manage a strong, prioritized pipeline of target accounts and opportunities.Execute proactive outreach campaigns through LinkedIn, email, phone, referrals, conferences, and networking activities.Develop strategic account plans tailored to each prospect's organization, research needs, and geographic footprint.Relationship BuildingEstablish relationships with senior decision-makers.Understand each prospect's business priorities, research challenges, supplier requirements, and decision-making processes.Build long-term partnerships that generate repeat and cross-market business opportunities.Meeting & Opportunity GenerationSchedule and lead qualified introductory meetings, discovery calls, and capability discussions, involving Exafield leadership and subject-matter experts as appropriate.Translate prospect needs into clear opportunity briefs and coordinate internal follow-up.Collaborate closely with leadership, operations, and local market teams on account strategies, tailored solutions, proposals, and business development initiatives.Support opportunities from initial contact through qualification, proposal, negotiation, and handover to delivery teams.Industry RepresentationAttend relevant European conferences, networking events, and industry meetings serving the CRO, RWE/RWR and healthcare research communities.Build visibility and awareness of the Exafield brand among priority client segments.Monitor industry trends, procurement models, competitive activity, and market developments to identify new opportunities.CRM & Pipeline ManagementMaintain accurate records of prospecting activity, stakeholder interactions, account intelligence, and next steps.Track meetings, opportunities, conversion stages, forecast value, and business development outcomes.Provide regular pipeline updates, market feedback, and progress reports.Ensure all activity is documented consistently within CRM systems and aligned with internal processes. What we are looking for: Required QualificationsAt least 3 years of experience in business development, client development, sales, or strategic account management within healthcare or life sciences.Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify opportunities, and build relationships with complex B2B accounts.Strong networking, consultative selling, and relationship-building skills.Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation abilities in English; additional European languages are an advantage.Experience using LinkedIn, CRM platforms, and prospecting tools.Confidence interacting with senior-level stakeholders and decision-makers across different markets.Results-oriented mindset, strong organizational skills, and willingness to travel within Europe as required. The position can be based in one of our European subsidiaries, depending on the candidate's location (France, Germany, Italy, Spain or United Kingdom) Preferred QualificationsExperience working with or selling to CROs, RWE/RWR organizations, biotechnology manufacturers, or pharmaceutical companies.Experience within clinical research or patient research.An established network within the CRO, RWE/RWR or healthcare research ecosystem. CompensationWe offer a competitive compensation package consisting of a base salary plus commission, structured according to the candidate's location, experience, qualifications, and business development expertise.Our commission program is designed to reward performance and success in generating new client opportunities and contributing to business growth.
