Cloud Backend Developer

For one of our clients, we are looking for a Cloud Backend Developer to join their cloud engineering team. You will design and build scalable serverless services in a production AWS environment, working closely with client's senior international team on a platform that processes large volumes of media in real time. This role can be full-time or part-time 3-4 days a week. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and build serverless backend services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, and DynamoDBImplement secure authentication and authorisation flows with AWS Cognito and OAuth2/OIDCBuild and maintain asynchronous processing pipelines for document and image workloadsContribute to API design and backend architecture decisionsIntegrate AI/LLM tooling to improve code quality and development workflowsParticipate in code reviews and help maintain a high engineering standard RequirementsFluent in English5+ years of backend development, with at least 3 years in AWS serverless environmentsStrong Node.js / TypeScript / PythonAWS proficiency: Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, CognitoDynamoDB data modelling (GSI/LSI, access patterns)Python for scripting and data processingSecurity best practices: JWT, IAM, secrets managementWorking knowledge of DevOps practices — CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure as code Nice to HavesTerraform or AWS CDKReact / TypeScript frontend experiencePostgreSQLAWS certification This is a B2B contract, with potential to extend.
