CNC Machinist / Manufacturing Engineer

Role DescriptionYou will make our parts and you will make them better. That means programming and running our CNC machines, taking a part from drawing to finished component, and building the fixturing, tooling and processes that let us go from a one-off prototype on Monday to a repeatable batch on Tuesday. While machining on our lathes and mills may be your main responsibility, taking part in running the other machinery as well as supporting assembly are likely. You'll work directly with our mechanical designers, discussing and improving speed, manufacturability, cost, and scalability. Actuator housings, gearbox components, motor parts, tight-tolerance shafts and bearing seats: these are the parts that decide whether our robots work. This role is full time on-site at our Tampere facilities. Required QualificationsConcrete, hands-on machining experience. CNC turning and/or milling, in a real production or prototype shop.Scrappy, high-agency, and a fast learner.Comfortable with full ownership of a setup: workholding, tooling selection, offsets, feeds and speeds, first-article inspection.Confident reading technical drawings and GD&T, and working to tight tolerances.CAM programming (Solidcam, Mastercam or similar), and comfortable editing G-code at the machine when relevant.Solid materials knowledge across aluminium, steels, stainless and plastics, and knowing what each one wants from you.Experience in measuring and probing parts.Ability to move fast and take ownership and initiative.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Vocational qualification in machining, a Bachelor's or Master's in mechanical or production engineering, or equivalent experience. We care far more about what you've actually made than about which certificate you hold. Preferred QualificationsExperience with Haas, DMG Mori, Y-axis or live-tooling lathes, bar feeder work, swiss lathes, or 5-axis milling.CAD proficiency (Solidworks or similar).Additive manufacturing (SLS 3D printing), sheet metal and laser cutting, welding, or motor and coil winding.Domain experience in machining components for robotics, actuators, motors or precision mechanisms.Open to possible shift work to keep our production running non-stop.Proficiency in Finnish is a plus.
