Commissioning Support Engineer - Switchgear

Client Location - Helsinki, FinlandClient Industry - Data Centres / Electrical InfrastructureContract Length - 12 months initially, with potential for 3+ yearsContract type - Freelance / Contractor

Project focus

Working on a large-scale data centre programme on three buildings in Helsinki, supporting the commissioning of electrical switchgear and associated critical power infrastructure. The programme is expected to run for several years, with potential for additional commissioning resources as the project develops.

Key skills and Experience required

Proven hands-on experience commissioning electrical switchgear within data centre, mission-critical or similar environmentsStrong experience carrying out Level 3 electrical testing and commissioning activitiesExperience commissioning UPS systems and/or other critical power equipment is highly relevantAbility to interpret and work through electrical testing and commissioning proceduresExperience working with switchgear from manufacturers such as Schneider, Vertiv or comparable OEMsBackground with an electrical equipment manufacturer, commissioning agent, specialist commissioning contractor or major data centre projectUnderstanding of Level 4 commissioning processes, with the ability to support the CXA and vendor as commissioning responsibilities progressComfortable working on a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation, with approximately 10-hour working daysAvailable to work on a long-term site-based contract in the Helsinki areaPrevious hyperscale or Microsoft data centre experience is advantageous but not essential Darwin Recruitment is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
