Control-M Technical LeadLocation: Fully Remote (Europe) Contract Type: Contract Rate: DOE Duration: 6+ months (potential for extension) Sector: Banking / Financial Services About the RoleOur client, a leading Bank, is seeking an experienced Control-M Technical Lead to support the upgrade of its legacy Control-M v8 workload automation platform. This is a fully remote contract role, open to candidates based anywhere in Europe, running for an initial 6+ months with potential for extension — a great opportunity for a seasoned Control-M expert to play a central, highly visible role in a major infrastructure programme within a top-tier financial services environment.You will act as the primary Control-M subject matter expert and technical authority throughout the programme, working closely with the Bank's infrastructure delivery partner, application teams, and Control-M vendor resources. You'll provide the guidance, oversight, and technical assurance needed to ensure the upgraded solution meets the Bank's operational, security, resilience, and business requirements. Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary Control-M Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical authority for the upgrade programmeProvide technical leadership and direction across the migration from Control-M v8 to the target upgraded platformWork in close collaboration with the Bank's infrastructure delivery partner, internal application teams, and Control-M vendor resourcesProvide technical guidance, oversight, and assurance across all phases of the upgrade lifecycleEnsure the upgraded solution meets operational, security, resilience, and business requirementsReview and validate technical designs, migration approaches, and implementation plans proposed by delivery partners and vendorsIdentify risks, dependencies, and potential issues throughout the programme, and advise on mitigation strategiesSupport testing, validation, and cutover planning to ensure a smooth and low-risk transitionAct as a key point of escalation for technical issues relating to Control-M throughout the programmeSupport knowledge transfer and upskilling of internal teams where required Required Skills & ExperienceProven experience as a Control-M Technical Lead / SME, ideally with hands-on experience of both legacy (v8) and current Control-M versionsStrong background in workload automation platform upgrades and migrations, ideally within banking or another highly regulated environmentDeep technical knowledge of Control-M architecture, configuration, scheduling, and integration pointsExperience providing technical oversight and assurance in a large-scale infrastructure or platform upgrade programmeStrong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across delivery partners, vendors, and internal application teamsSolid understanding of operational resilience, security, and change management requirements within a banking/financial services contextExcellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail for both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience working within structured programme/project delivery frameworks DesirableControl-M vendor (BMC) certification or accreditationPrior experience within a banking or financial services environmentExperience with related infrastructure or automation technologies Why ApplyThis is a high-impact role offering the chance to lead a critical automation upgrade programme within a major financial institution, with strong visibility across infrastructure, vendor, and application stakeholders.
